Rwanda Visa for North Macedonian Citizens: Entry Guide
North Macedonian citizens travelling on ordinary passports can obtain a Rwanda visa on arrival with the visa fee waived for an eligible visit of up to 30 days. An advance paid eVisa is unnecessary for this arrival route. You must still meet Rwanda’s entry requirements and comply with the permission issued at the border.
Understanding the 30-Day Arrival Arrangement
Rwanda’s official visa-regime notice explicitly includes North Macedonia among the countries whose citizens receive a visa on arrival without a visa charge for a 30-day visit.
The arrangement reflects North Macedonia’s membership of La Francophonie. The OIF identifies the country as a member state, with membership dating from 2006.
The important distinction is between a visa fee waiver and an unrestricted right to enter. Travellers still complete immigration formalities. Rwanda’s visitor guidance describes the applicable arrangement as single entry and does not permit employment.

Choose Your Route Before Preparing Documents
| Your travel plan | Relevant route | Key conditions | Support through this website |
|---|---|---|---|
| A short holiday in Rwanda | Fee-waived visa on arrival | Eligible 30-day visit; entry requirements still apply | No advance paid application is required |
| You prefer permission arranged before departure | An appropriate official online visa application | Select the category matching your purpose | Acceptance of North Macedonian applications has not been confirmed |
| Tourism across Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda | East Africa Tourist Visa | A separate regional visa with its own conditions | Service availability has not been confirmed |
Rwanda provides visa on arrival at Kigali International Airport and all land borders. Travellers eligible for that route do not need a prior application.
For a three-country tourist itinerary, the East Africa Tourist Visa costs US$100 and is valid for 90 days, allowing multiple entries while remaining within the participating countries. If obtained before travel through Rwanda, Rwanda must be the first entry country. The regional visa is separate from Rwanda’s 30-day fee-waived arrangement.
Passport and Entry Preparation
Carry an acceptable passport or travel document with at least six months of remaining validity.
You must have sufficient funds for your visit; supporting evidence may be requested. A vaccination certificate may also be required under applicable health rules. Keep your accommodation details and onward itinerary accessible as practical travel preparation.
An online application has a separate document checklist. Do not assume that every attachment requested online must also be submitted for the arrival route.

Arranging Permission Online Before Departure
If you prefer advance arrangements, use Rwanda’s official IremboGov channel. Prepare the application in three stages:
- Choose the category: Select Visa Application and identify the visa type appropriate to your visit.
- Prepare the information: Enter your passport and travel details, then upload the requested attachments.
- Review and submit: Check the information and follow any applicable payment instructions.
Common attachments include a passport biodata-page copy, a photograph with a white background and an application letter. Requirements vary by category. IremboGov states that applications for free visas proceed to processing without a payment step.
Its guide, updated on 27 August 2026, lists a processing time of four days. Treat that as a published estimate, not a guaranteed approval deadline.
Government Visa Fees and Private Charges
The qualifying 30-day arrival arrangement waives the visa charge. That does not make every visa category or private travel service free.
Rwanda Immigration Services is an independent commercial website. Charges displayed by a private provider must be distinguished from official immigration fees.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is an advance eVisa compulsory?
No. Eligible North Macedonian visitors can use the arrival route without applying beforehand.
Can I use the 30-day visit for employment?
No. Employment is not permitted under the visitor arrangement described here.
What if I want to stay longer?
Confirm the appropriate visa or permit with DGIE. Where an extension is available, apply while your current permission remains valid; a longer stay is not automatic.
